VR Group practices railway transportation business and complementary bus transportation business. It offers also services for constructing and maintaining railways. There are also companies that provide catering, restaurant, and telecommunication services in VR Group. VR Group's main market area is Finland, but significant part of the cargo transportation is international.
VR Passenger Services is the biggest part of VR corporation. VR Passenger Services offers versatile services for train passengers in domestic journeys and in capitol area's commuter journeys. VR Passenger Services' main customer groups are e.g. families, commuters, and business travelers.
Our collaboration with VR started in spring 2008. We have created a Quality Documentation Package for VR Group. The most important part of the documentation is Quality Handbook. Package guides quality assurance actions in different phases of software project and it helps to achieve successful projects. We have piloted Quality Documentation Package and test model presented in it in VR Passenger Services' large project. We have participated in reviewing of outputs from specification and design phases. We have also participated in test planning and test process development. We have helped and supported VR's own test specialists with wider deployment and usage of a test management tool and gaining more general testing knowledge.
Qentinel's consultants have brought more visions to testing and to quality assurance of the project. Adaptation of the Quality Handbook gives possibility for systematic and inclusive quality assurance.
