Qentinel attended the itSMF seminar in October

Top professionals in IT service management gathered on 6.-7. of October to Dipoli Congress Center in Espoo at itSMF's annual conference. This year's theme was Holy Cow, dealing with the IT service management sacred cows, ie. subjects whose questioning has not been allowed.

Qentinel led a workshop with the topic "Saving makes blessed." Workshop participants discussed the natural human tendency to respond to problems by replacing the actual goal with the aspiration to save money, time - and one's own faces. Saving is a normal medicine to, for example, delayed schedules or growing feature lists. On the other hand, if saving is taken too far, it on only leads to growing risk level and increased costs. Workshop's main finding was that even the most clear common objectives don't last themselves, but in addition to "management by objectives" also "management of objectives" is needed.
