QUALITY OF INFORMATION SYSTEMS SHOWS IN CASH

Qentinel is organizing a Breakfast Seminar on Thursday 2.9.2010. In the seminar Quality of Information Systems shows in cash we are discussing about what quality costs, how a new IT system's quality and compatibility to requirements are assured, how quality assurance can affect to the functionality of systems in production, and how quality assurance can be one of IT's strategic tools.

Qentinel participates Akva's boat seminar on 29.9.-1.10.2010 (8.06.2010)

Qentinel is taking part in Akva's (HITA's club of active decision-maker's) boat seminar on M/S Viking Mariella held on 29.9.-1.10.2010. Themes of the seminar are agility and cloud computing. In the seminar professionals speak from different viewpoints regarding agile methods and cloud computing. Qentinel's presentation is titled "Requirement specification's meaning in agile projects", presenting the importance of making a requirement specification, based on own experiences, even when using agile methods in system development. Requirement specification is affecting to IT system acquisition straight from the beginning; How the follow-up of the project will be made, and how testing can be planned in time and right. Also the phase of tendering gets easier, both from the view of the buyer and the supplier. More information and enrolling here.

Qentinel participates in Sytyke boat seminar - theme being Cloud computing (1.06.2010)

Qentinel attends again this year the Sytyke boat seminar, which is held on 8.-10.9.2010 at Viking Gabriella. Theme of the seminar is "Cloud computing - Thin high clouds, visibility good". Viewpoints on the topic are advantages of cloud computing, effects to IT professionals everyday life, information security and integrations, what possibilites does cloud computing bring, etc. Qentinel is having it's presentation on "Bombardment from Cloud castle", which is about e.g. performance testing made from cloud. Software testing theme day at TUT on 8.6.2010 (12.04.2010)

Qentinel is participating to the Software testing theme day on 8.6.2010, which is a free event organized by Information Processing Association in Pirkanmaa Region reg. soc. PITKY ry and Tampere University of Technology. The main theme of the day is experiences on agile and model-based testing. Qentinel's CEO Esko Hannula is giving a presentation on "Agile meets reality", with viewpoints on quality assurance, critical view on agile development and the every-day life in Finland.

Qentinel joins the Education and Labour Committee of EK (15.03.2010)

The Confederation of Finnish Industries EK nominated Qentinel´s representative, Marketta Gland, as a member of the Education and Labour Committee of EK during its board meeting of February 18th, 2010. Marketta Gland also continues to act as EK´s representative in the Education Committee for Information Technology founded by the Ministry of Education. This committee aims to anticipate Finland's competence and training needs on all educational levels as well as the development of vocational education and higher education in Finland. Through these memberships, Qentinel is actively promoting its views on how to ensure the effectiveness and quality of the development of the IT industry in Finland.

Qentinel Ltd receive the acknowledgement awarded by Aalto-university (9.03.2010)

Mari Lättilä and Marjo Sjöberg from Qentinel Ltd were rewarded at the international women's' day 8.3.2010 the "Women and technology" (Naiset ja tekniikka) -acknowledgement from the fund of Marja-Terttu Tanttinen. The meaning of the acknowledgement awarded by the Aalto University's School of Science and Technology is to enhance women to promote to apply in technology studies. Now the acknowledgement is awarded fifth time and the objective is to raise the interest in and support women in the ICT-field, which is still very male-dominated.

The acknowledment strives for introduction the role of woman in the human-technology interaction and in the development of research and services. In the justification of the selection of the winner is told, that Mari Lättilä and Marjo Sjöberg represent outstanding entrepreneurship, determination and expertise in the traditionally very male-dominated ICT-technology field. Both are very happy about the acknowledgement awarded to Qentinel Ltd.

- The acknowledgement shows, that we are on the right track in our actions. It is important to notice, that it is not only a reward to us but an acknowledgement to the whole company Qentinel Ltd. Of course it is inspiring to think of, that we can show an example to all future technology heroes - hopefully still more and more of them are female, states Lättilä.

IT Governance & Portfolio Management -conference 9.2.2010 (22.02.2010)

Qentinel was as a partner on 9.2.2010 in Management Events' IT Governance & Portfolio Management -conference. Qentinel's CEO Esko Hannula had a presentation titled "Quality of Information Systems is visible in income statement".

Qentinel's representatives had about fifty meetings with different organization's management regarding themes

In this seminar we are delving into the quality assurance and testing of a Succesful acquisition in IT-project's managements point of view. Topics are taking quality assurance into consideration from the beginning of the project, and organizing and designing the quality assurance of project. Also risk management methods and defining quality information for decision making are helping in assuring the success.
